Daniel Zweier started writing fiction at the age of 13. He penned the fantastical beginnings of an epic fantasy tome in which elves and multicolored dragons featured heavily. Fantasy gave way to stream of conscious, inspired by the beat generation and dystopian science fiction. This led to a love and devotion to literary magical realism, the genre in which he currently works. Daniel has finished his first novel, The Great Rift, steeped in that tradition. He is also working on a collection of short stories, Our Young Years. Spirituality, magic, and the conscious pursuit of purpose are the themes that always seem to crawl into his work.
After receiving his B.A. in Religious Studies at U.C. Santa Cruz, Daniel began participating in NaNoWriMo. He has completed three years of the furious writing contest, producing a novel and a number of short stories in the process. Daniel has turned writing into a career as a non-fiction editor, writer, and content creator in online publications. He produces engaging content in millennialism, technology, and the outdoor industry.
Daniel currently lives in Ventura, CA with his girlfriend and dog.
